About Sarah
Sarah Bergman is a Canberra-based singer-songwriter and musician. Playing music from a young age, Sarah began writing her own songs in high school and has fronted Canberra band Sugar3 since 2018; having played with numerous local and touring Australian acts such as Indiago and John Lawrie & TWS in recent times.
Sarah’s music is influenced by a wide range of artists including Blondie, Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish, and blends pop, rock and electronica. Her style is familiar but at the same time edgy, and you just can’t escape her commanding vocal presence. Her songwriting delivers heart-felt lyrics, which are oftentimes confronting and confessional, yet seemingly always relatable.
2020 marked the beginning of Sarah’s solo career with the release of her debut single ‘Pieces‘ in February. The song explores the strengths and vulnerabilities at play within failing relationships. It has since received local radio play and has found it’s way onto numerous streaming playlists.
Sarah’s latest release, the follow-up single ‘What We Have‘ is about unrequited love and an attempt to navigate this with maturity, restraint, and a faint feeling of hope. The song shows Sarah embracing a more electronic sound – something she continues to explore in her upcoming releases.
Sarah is currently working on a new single due for release in June, and an EP later in the year. Stay tuned…
